When love crosses borders, beautiful things happen. This was certainly the case for Rebecca and Matt, a wonderful Scottish couple who chose to unite their lives in a magical setting in the heart of Florence. Their Catholic wedding ceremony took place in the breathtaking Santa Maria Novella Cathedral, a place as grand and timeless as their love story.
The ceremony was nothing short of spectacular. As the couple exchanged vows, the angelic voice of a soprano filled the cathedral, bringing a sense of solemnity and emotion to every moment. The already stunning setting was simply enhanced with a few white and green decorations, making the church even more enchanting without overwhelming its beauty.
What truly made the day unforgettable was the deep involvement of Rebecca and Matt’s family. Their close relatives, along with their two young daughters, played a vital role in the ceremony, adding an intimate, heartfelt touch. It was a family affair, and the love and support they shared could be felt throughout the sacred space.
After the mass, Rebecca and Matt embarked on a leisurely stroll through Florence, visiting iconic landmarks and soaking in the beauty of the city, which felt even more magical in the light of their union.
The celebration continued in the picturesque Chianti region, where the reception was held at the stunning Castello Il Palagio. Guests were welcomed with an aperitif in the castle's inner courtyard, surrounded by historic stone walls and greenery. As the evening progressed, the dinner was set up around the central fountain in the courtyard. It was a sight to behold: strings of twinkling lights hung from the trees above, and elegant tables adorned with white and green floral runners were illuminated by soft candlelight. It was truly an intimate, romantic atmosphere.
Throughout the evening, toasts and heartfelt speeches echoed across the courtyard, celebrating Rebecca and Matt's love. When it was time for the cake, the couple made a delightful choice — a traditional millefoglie, beautifully presented and adding a sweet touch to the evening’s celebration. The cake cutting took place in the courtyard, a fitting moment to celebrate their union amidst the charm of Castello Il Palagio.
The party continued late into the night in the courtyard where the couple's initials were projected onto the cobblestone floor. Guests danced beneath the stars, enjoying every moment of the celebration.
Rebecca and Matt’s wedding was a perfect blend of Scottish charm and Italian elegance, an unforgettable experience that left all who attended feeling the magic of their love.
A truly magnificent day!
